The Māori Land Court Minute Books Index (MLCMBI) contains over 90,000 records and indexes over 1100 minute books between 1865 and 1910, from the Taitokerau, Waikato-Maniapoto, Tairawhiti, Waiariki, Aotea, Takitimu, and Waipounamu Māori Land Court Districts.

We acknowledge the various librarians who have contributed to the establishment of this valuable resource over the years. The Māori Land Court head office, district office and judges will receive access to the index free of charge. The index does not include the content of the Māori Land Court Minute Books.

Subscribing to the MLCMBI Online Version (for NZ Institutions)

The University of Auckland Library is pleased to announce the online version of the Māori Land Court Minute Books Index, available on the Knowledge Basket since February 2006 to NZ institutions.

  • Casual rates do not apply.
  • Site License Access: 12 months = $500.00 + GST, payable in advance at the commencement of subscription. This allows unrestricted access from within the institution in all its locations.
  • Subscriptions are suited to institutions and not individuals, available within New Zealand.
